Born from the idea that martial arts are much more than just the physical skills taught, at SSG we focus extensively on the external as well as the internal growth of our members. It is our core philosophy that getting fit and skilled is not good enough - we must use it to benefit our lives and those who are a part of it.
With a major focus on character development and leadership, we welcome students from all age groups, walks of life, and experience levels. Whether this is your first step into the world of martial arts, or you just want to get fit, or even if you want to test yourselves in the fire of competition, we have a class for you.

“Balancing a job, family, sports (muay thai), and training in the gym can be a frustrating and challenging situation for a lot of people. I was stuck, not making any progress in the ring and did not feel as strong or powerful like I thought I should feel after many years of training. I got in touch with Imtiaz to help me get stronger and perform better in the ring. “6 years ago I used to weigh around 130lbs and had the beginnings of six pack abs. After going through boarding school and a few years of working at various jobs, I ended up at 180lbs with a round belly, calves that could barely carry me up 5 flights of stairs, and the endurance of a smoker twice my age! “This plan has kept me structured and disciplined--eating throughout day and making sure not to miss meals or snack when I shouldn't be. I also learned lots about portion sizes and the importance of having a scale on my kitchen sink. The exercises are very doable-challenging enough and not discouraging. I like how they are based on body weight/resistance and results are determined by my own intensity and drive. Also, they don't take up an hour of my time.”

“The nutrition plan is fantastic! The list of approved foods and grocery list have helped introduce many new foods for my family. I never felt hungry because the meals and snacks were well balanced and varied. I have to say that eating a late afternoon snack helped curb snacking and grazing while making dinner-this was always a huge problem. “I first started training with Imtiaz in March of 2015. At first I was skeptical because I had never worked with a personal trainer before and didn’t think I had the ability to do the workouts that would be expected from me. It was also a challenge in the beginning to stay motivated about working out and controlling my eating habits. On days I wouldn’t feel like coming to the gym, Imtiaz made sure I was there putting to work in. It has been many months since I have been training with Imtiaz now. He is always there to keep me motivated, supporting the goals I want to achieve, and making sure I get there. The workouts are intense but also very fun and definitely result driven.
